Fitness Challenge 2026–27.

Air squats, push-ups and sit-ups every day for 27 weeks, Monday, November 9, 2026 through Sunday, May 16, 2027. Steady effort and healthy habits over maxing out, with every dad cheering on his son.

Starts Monday, November 9

Print the guide and tracker.

The full rules, the week-by-week numbers for every group, the optional Pro track schedule, and a weekly record for dad to sign off. Print one record per son.

Your numbers

Same number of each, every day.

Weeks 1 and 2 are the same so anyone who missed kickoff can catch up. From Week 3 the count goes up by one each week.

Woodlands

15 each in Weeks 1–2, building to 40 each by Week 27.

Navigators

20 each in Weeks 1–2, building to 45 each by Week 27.

Adventurers

25 each in Weeks 1–2, building to 50 each by Week 27.

How it works

Four steps, 27 weeks.

Dad picks the reward

Before you start, each dad chooses his own reward for his son, based on what motivates him, and writes it on the tracker.

Do your reps daily

Air squats, push-ups and sit-ups, your group's number for the week. Break them into sets if you like.

Check in

Post a ✅ in #fitnesschallenge on Slack, or check the box on the printed tracker.

Finish strong

Every boy who conquers the challenge gets a 2027 Troop Fitness Challenge T-shirt.

The rules

Makeups, rest days and the Pro track.

What counts

A day counts when you finish the full number of air squats, push-ups and sit-ups for your group and week. Do them all at once or in sets through the day. Scale as needed: push-ups from the knees or against an incline are fine. Steady progress beats perfection.

Missed days and makeups

Life happens. Make up a missed day's reps within the same Monday-to-Sunday week, the next day if you can, using that week's numbers. Once they're done the day counts. Makeups don't carry into the next week.

Perfect Week

A Monday-to-Sunday week where every day's reps were done, either on the day or properly made up that same week. Both count the same.

Sunday rest

Families who keep Sunday as a day of rest may do Sunday's reps Monday morning instead. Those reps use the previous week's numbers and count only for that Sunday; Monday's own reps are still done separately. The last one is Monday, May 17.

Illness and recovery

If you're sick, rest. Don't exercise while sick. Dad can vouch for the illness and for makeups once you're well. Spread makeups out instead of cramming them into one session, and stop if something hurts. Parents decide when a boy is ready to get back to it.

Pro track (optional, Navigators and Adventurers)

On top of the daily reps, not instead of them: one scaled Murph each week. Weeks 1 and 2 are a quarter Murph, and it climbs 3 percentage points a week until Week 27 is the full Murph (1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, 1-mile run). Walk the mile, do knee push-ups, or use ring rows as needed. The week-by-week schedule is in the PDF. Not required to finish the challenge or earn the shirt.

Rewards

  • Dad's reward (required): every dad picks his own reward for his son, built around what motivates that boy. Talk it over and write it on the tracker before you start.
  • Troop T-shirt: the troop covers a 2027 Troop Fitness Challenge T-shirt for every boy who finishes. Shirts are made once finishers and sizes are known.
  • No cash prize. None is offered or promised.

Tracking

Post a ✅ in the #fitnesschallenge Slack channel each day (for example, Nov 9 - 25/25/25 ✅), including made-up days. Pro track members post their Murph too. Prefer paper? The PDF prints a daily tracker and a Family Weekly Completion Record for dad to initial each week.

Optional goal

Training for something bigger?

A boy may pick a personal goal like a 5K, a 10K or a Tough Mudder. That's up to each family; the troop hasn't committed to any race.
